The Planetary System
A mostly correct planetary system survey is linked to below.
http://www.utzig.com/cgi-bin/iai/system_info.pl?Sectors=Spinward_Marches&Hex=0336
Our detailed analysis found that gravity was closer to a standard 1g than the incorrect calculation shown here.
Although a scan of the planet was not possible from orbit, it was visually apparent during entry that the planet contains only one major continent plus a scattering of small islands. "The Gang" put their heads together and came up with the following maps (also informed from their experiences while travelling South)
The meeting
Bertie, Fenton, Vaughan, Buster, and Kylara all work for Hilbert Byers at "Archeological Flying Tours" in the vilage of Samsara, located to the SW of Candory's main continent, and to the W of the Kochi Mountains. Times are hard and visitors are few.
Formbeke and the Hakar'i
The gang fly by helicopter to Formbeke to collect provisions. Whilst Bertie, Kylara, and Fenton are in the bazaar, Vaughan and Buster (who are at the helicopter) are approached by two guards from Trexalon Interests (TI)("Black Guards", named such because of their black uniforms). Both guards are soon killed by snipers belonging to the Hakar'i tribe, who are fighting a guerilla war to try to stop TI mining the Kochi Mountians.
Our heroes are taken by the Hakar'i to their secret hideout in the mountains, as a massive thunder storm is beginning. During their overnight stay they are asked to help the Hakar'i in their war against TI.
The next day Bertie, Fenton, Vaughan, Buster, and Kylara ask to see some local ruins, sacred to the Hakar'i. They travel their in the helicopter and discover that the ruins are, basically, just ruins (and lots of sand). They part company with their Hakar'i minders and head back to Samsara.
An enigmatic stranger
On their return to Samsara Bertie, Fenton, Vaughan, Buster, and Kylara discover "Archeological Flying Tours" have a newly-arrived customer. Mr Marcal D'Olmey is from the capitol to the north, and wants to see local ruins.
On his first flight he insists on viewing the railway line that leads to the TI mines in the Kochi Mountains. This line carries express trains to and from the mines, always at night.
That night Marcal explains a daring plan to rob Illitium gems from a TI train that heads from the Mountains to a port to the W of Samsara, and asks our heroes to help him. They eventually agree, but have reservations about dropping themselves onto the moving train from the helicopter in the dead of night!
Marcal mysteriously disappears in his car. Bertie, Vaughan, Buster, and Klyara try to find him by car and helicopter, but fail. Instead he is confronted by Fenton on his return to Samsara, who discovers Marcal has collected grav-belts to assist in the operation.
The heist
On the second night of waiting a west-bound TI train is seen by our heroes, who are waiting in the helicoper, parked out to the east of Samsara. They scramble, intercept the train, and board it. Fenton opens the first carriage to find to his surprise that it is empty. He tries a second carriage; it too is empty, apart from some metal shelves (similar to bunks) and ominous pools of dried blood.
Our heroes rapidly depart from the train before they are detected, and return to Samsara, uncertain of their next action.
Don't miss the next exciting episode
- Will Marcal give more details about who he is?
- Will our heroes unravel the mystery of the train? Is the mine really a concentration camp?
- Will Kylara warm to Berties advances? (not bloody likely)

Don't be so rediculous Ian. Fenton's eyes are much closer together than that.
